RBERN West

The Regional Bilingual Education-Resource Network (RBERN) West is part of a statewide system of support funded by the NYSED, Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages (OBEWL).

Mission: Collaborate with educators, parents, and community members to promote academic excellence and ensure high school graduation for all multilingual learners.

Vision: A community that provides access to an excellent and equitable education for multilingual learners that prepares them to be prosperous participants of a free and democratic society.

Back to School with RBERN West

The RBERN West team is thrilled to be continue supporting educators in western New York under our new five-year grant from NYSED OBEWL! We’ve proudly supported our region, and this new chapter brings exciting opportunities to partner with educators, families, and community leaders. Together, we’ll continue supporting and promoting academic success and high school graduation for all multilingual learners.

New York State Guidance on Safeguarding the Rights of Immigrant Students

The Offices of the New York State Attorney General, Governor, and Education Department issued a memo on safeguarding immigrant students' rights. It reaffirms schools as safe havens and provides resources on state and federal obligations. The guidance covers enrollment, student records, law enforcement actions, bullying, and family detention or deportation.
